She graduated in 1926 from Fairmount High School. She married Fred Echelbarger on Aug. 29, 1928. She was a housewife and she also worked at Fettig Canning Company - Pt. Isabel in the office for 19 years.
She was a member of the Greentown Wesleyan Church. She was the Director of VBS of the Greentown Churches for several years, directed the Greentown Easter Pageant until the 1965 tornado destroyed the high school. She was Church Pianist / Organist. She was involved for several years with the Women's Missionary Society and Best Years Fellowship (BYF). They spent many winters in Ft. Myers Florida.
Survivors include sons, Donald (Barbara) Echelbarger, Greentown, and John (Linda) Echelbarger, Greentown; daughter-in-law, Frances Echelbarger, King George, Va.; brother, Tom (Annabelle) McCan, Anderson; sister, Ruth Shane, Greentown; grandchildren, Allen (Juanita) Echelbarger, Dan (Kathy) Echelbarger, Jay (Debbie) Echelbarger, Mark Echelbarger, Deborah (Bill) Morris, and Dustin (LeeAnn) Echelbarger; great-grandchildren, Lora (Johnny) Wilson, Joel Echelbarger, Joy (Ryan) (Echelbarger) Kemp, Brianne Echelbarger, Caitlin Morris, Lindsay Morris, Sean Morris, Will Porter, Wesley Porter, and Jaden Echelbarger; great-great-grandchildren, Kelsey and Kendall; step-great-grandchildren, Ryan (Laurie) Shaffer, Rod (Megan) Shaffer, Ashleigh Maher, Matthew Maher, and Andrew Maher.
