Death claimed John Richard Durham, 73, a native of Taylor County, at his home in Lebanon last Wednesday night. He had been critically ill since April 16.
Funeral services were held at the home Friday afternoon by Rev. Olaf Anderson and burial was in Ryder Cemetery.
He was born here on November 7, 1866, the son of James E. Durham and Frances Durrett Durham and was educated at local schools and Central University, Richmond. He was prominent in civic affairs in Lebanon and was a director of Citizens National Bank and of the Springfield State Bank, and an elder in the Presbyterian church.
He is survived by his widow; three daughters: Miss Anne Durham, Mrs. George E. Kelly, and Mrs. Howell C. Buckner, Lebanon; one son: James E. Durham, Louisville; two brothers: James E. Durham, of this city, and George Durham of Washington County; and one sister, Miss Matt Durham of Campbellsville.
