Levi DeBusk was born September 5, 1837, in the state of Indiana. While he was yet a boy his parents moved from there to Illinois and a little later to Iowa, where he lived for about twenty years. October 30, 1860, he was united in marriage to Eunice A banks in Winterset, Iowa. To this union two children were born, on of whom, Mrs. Olive Artman of Colville, Washington, survives. He was ordained in the United Brethren church when but a young man. In 1894 he united with the Free Methodist church, in the welfare of which church he evinced a lively interest and in whose fellowship he lived for twenty two years. At this time he lived in Colorado but moved with his family to Arden, Washington, January 9, 1909, where his wife died in May of the same year. Following the death of his wife he returned again to the active ministry and served charges in Washington and later in Oregon, where at Grants Pass he was united in marriage with Mrs. Louisa J. Crawford, May 9, 1912. They came to Colville in May, 1913, where he resided till death came to him on May 14, 1916. He leaves to mourn their loss his wife, Mrs. Louisa DeBusk, one daughter, Mrs. Olive Artman, as well as other relatives and many friends. His life as a follower of Christ was ever, trustful and victorious. he bore his last sickness with Christian patience and love, and faced death without fear. Services were conduct from the Colville Free Methodist church. The writer officiated, assisted by the pastor of the Colville Methodist Episcopal church.
