Birth: unknown
Death: Mar. 30, 1916

One of Tippecanoe county's pioneer women, Mrs Elizabeth Cunningham, of Stockwell, died at the Home hospital Thursday evening at 7:15 o'clock at the age of 78 years. All of her life was spent in Lauramie township and she was probably its oldest inhabitant in point of residence, as well as being one of the oldest in years. Mrs Cunningham for more than three-quarters of a century made her home in Stockwell and saw this county grow from a wilderness into a prosperous community. Her maiden name was Elizabeth Bolen and her parents were among the first of Indiana's white inhabitants. Her first husband was James O'Peede, who was killed in the war of the rebellion. Mrs Cunningham is survived by two sons, W O Peede, and Edward Cunningham, of Stockwell, and a brother, W S Bolen, of College Springs, Ia. She had been in poor health all winter, and a week ago her condition became critical. She was brought to the hospital last Wednesday. The body was taken to the family home yesterday and the funeral will be conducted from the Stockwell M E church Sunday after noon at 2 o'clock, the Rev C H Leeson officiating. Interment in Monroe Cemetery.
