The son of George Wesley Culp and Sarah Leisering Culp, Jack Culp served in the Navy during World War II and after the war served in the reserves. He married Laura A. Warren on November 9, 1946 in Yarnell, Arizona. Jack Culp worked at the Iron King Mine in Humboldt, Arizona and also at the Bagdad Coper Mine. He was also a member of the Bagdad Sheriff's Posse. Finally, he because Land Manager for the Cypress-Bagdad Copper Mine in Wikieup, Arizona. After retiring from this position, he and his wife, Laura, moved back to the Congress area in 1989.
