Lula Hall Crosby
September 23, 1908 - September 11, 2010 (age 101)

Lula Hall Crosby was born September 23, 1908 to Ashley and Laura Hall in Eagar, Arizona. She passed away September 11, 2010, in Hurricane, Utah, 12 days before her 102nd birthday. Lula married Welton L. Crosby, July 24, 1942 just before he served four years in the U.S. Army during World War II.

She descended from great progenitors who taught her the value of initiative, hard work, honesty, faith and service. These traits were with her all the days of her life.

Lula received a master's degree in Music Education from the University of Arizona. She taught music and elementary education for 40 years in Arizona and Idaho. She was known by her associates and students as a remarkable teacher who enriched the lives of hundreds of her students. She loved and helped many along the way to a more meaningful life. She loved music and was an accomplished pianist, organist, conductor and piano and vocal teacher. She instilled this love for music in many of her students.

Lula loved the works and creations of our Heavenly Father. She possessed an insatiable desire to learn about the creator's handiwork and marveled at the grandness of it all. She loved to travel and was proud of the fact that she had visited every state capital in the U.S. Her husband, Welton said on many occasions, "If she gets a little cranky, all I have to do is get her in the car and go somewhere – it doesn't matter where,"

She was blessed with a deep faith in the gospel of Jesus Christ and served numerous church callings and temple assignments. Her depth of belief, dedication and example inspired many.

Lula lived a long and healthy life with her final ten years in Springville and Toquerville, Utah. Together with Welton they raised a garden and orchard of "healthy" fruits and vegetables.

She is survived by her husband, Welton; three sons, Welton (Alla), Ray (Stacy) and Gaius (Sue); 19 grandchildren; 41 great-grandchildren; and her brother, Theron Hall, of St. Johns, Arizona. We will miss her greatly.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 18, 2010, at 11:00 a.m. at the Toquerville 3rd Ward Chapel, 63 N. Toquer Blvd., Toquerville, UT. There will be a viewing held Friday, September 17, 2010, from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Spilsbury Mortuary Chapel, 110 S. Bluff St., St. George, UT., and also Saturday, from 9:45-10:45 a.m. prior to services at the Chapel. Interment will take place at the Toquerville Cemetery.
