Ida Rebecca Rutherford was the daughter of James Thomas Rutherford and Samantha Adaline Gard Rutherford. She married Andrew "Andy" Douglas Cowell 26 November 1884 in Auburn, Nehema County, Nebraska. They had nine known children; Claude Cleveland, Leon Coe, Lovie May, Carl James, Gilbert, Golide Bell, Ruth Hazel, Thelma Adalene, and an Infant.
