Richard L. Clewell was born 12 Jul 1819 in Schoeneck, Northampton County, Pennsylvania; one of seven children born to John and Mary (Christ) Clewell, Jr.
Richard served his country during the Civil War, a Private in Company G, 59th Regiment, Pennylvania Volunteer 2nd Calvary and in Company G, 2nd Pennsylvania Calvary Regiment. Richard served from 27 Feb 1865 until 13 Jul 1865.
Richard did not marry. He passed away 08 Jan 1893 in Schoeneck, Northampton County, Pennsylvania at the age of 73 years. He was laid to rest in God's Acre Schoeneck Moravian Cemetery in Schoeneck, Northampton County, Pennsylvania.
