Bobby Stowe Carpenter, age 65, died Wednesday, December 19, 2007 in Carolina Medical Center, Charlotte.
Bob was born July 5, 1942, in Lincoln County, the Son of the late Salathiel Stowe and Stella Jane Clark Carpenter. He was a graduate of Cherryville High School, Western Carolina University, Veteran of the US Army, N C Public School Teacher, having taught at Casar, Newton, and West Lincoln. He taught drivers education and US History before retiring in 1995.
His love of life was his family, cattle farming, history , genealogy and collecting almost any kind of antiques. He was a very devoted husband, father and grandpa.
Survivors include his wife, Vivian Rebecca Sain Carpenter, of the home, son and daughter-in-law, Scott and Lisa Carpenter of Cherryville, daughters and sons-in-law, Tammy and Henry Smith, Hickory, Cindy and Ronnie Martin, Vale, Becky and Chad Smith , Vale.
Sisters and brothers-in-law, Brenda and Rev. Marion Boozer, Gaffney, SC, Libba and Dr. Jim Wells of Hillsboro, NC.
Grandchildren: Nathan Carpenter, Cherryville, Mandy Cloninger, Julie Cloninger, Hickory, Michael Martin, Dylan Smith, Camille Smith, Callie Smith all of Vale.
Burial will be in Bethlehem United Methodist Church Cemetery, Cherryville, N. C.
