Mrs. C. D. Calvin
Mrs. Mattie L. Calvin, Negro, of 1224-27th St., Newport News, died at her residence Monday after a short illness. The Brunswick County native had been a resident of the Peninsula for the past 45 years. She was a member of First Baptist Church, East End.
Surviving are her husband, Charlie D. Calvin; two sisters, Mrs. Minnie Nabbes and Mrs. Mamie Bundy, both of Philadelphia, and a brother, Wesley Graves of Alberta.
A funeral service will be held at 1pm Saturday at First Baptist Church, East End. The Rev. W. M. Brown, pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in Pleasant Shade Cemetery.
