THE DEATH OF JOHN T BRUBAKER
John T Brubaker, who for many years conducted a general store at Wea, later being connected with the Charles Kleinhans establishment in this city, died at St. Elizabeth hospital at 4:30 o'clock this morning of heart failure. Mr Brubaker was born in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, on March 30, 1854, and came here with his father when 17 years old. He had lived in this county ever since. On August 5, 1883, he was married to Miss Rosa B Simons, who survives. Besides the widow he leaves one son, Rainey, of this city, one brother, Adam, of Waco Nebraska, a sister Mrs Mary Loney, of Indianapolis, and a step-brother, David Brubaker, of Lafayette. He was a member of the Christian church and was held in high esteem, having a wide acquaintance. After giving up his business on the Wea Mr Brubaker, with his wife, went to Arkansas. They returned and for a time Mr. Brubaker was engaged in farming on the Wea. Then he came to Lafayette and associated himself with the Kleinhans store. He had been sick but a short time. The body was taken to the Baker parlors at Dayton and will be taken from there to the home at Wea tomorrow. The funeral will be conducted from the Spring Grove church Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock, Rev George W. Watson officiating. Interment in Wildcat cemetery.( The Lafayette Courier, Saturday, December 1, 1917)
