Philip R. Botterbusch, 90, left this earth on Thursday, December 10, 2015 to be with his family and friends.

He was born in North York on February 01, 1925, a son of the late Harry S. and Florence R. (Lease) Botterbusch.

Phil graduated from North York High School in 1943.

He immediately joined the U.S. Army and served in World War II with the 593rd Joint Assault Signal Company earning the Philippine Liberation Ribbon with two Bronze Stars and the Asiatic Pacific Campaign Ribbon with the Bronze Arrowhead and four Bronze Stars.

Following his military service, Phil was employed by Horn - Crone - Horn Photo Engraving and Printing Company and later by White Rose Printing.

He was a part-time musician for thirty-eight years playing with The Jerry Martin Band, The Rudy Carroll Trio, and the Jim B Duo.

Phil was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2493, Mt. Wolf and the American Legion, Pleasureville.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife: Doris (Kepner) Botterbusch in 1994; his companion: Betty Spahr in 2006; and, his beloved Schnauzer: Andy.

Phil is survived by his daughter: Cindy R. Malandro of Black Canyon City, Arizona; his three sons: Richard A. and wife, Patricia A. Botterbusch of York, Robert E. and wife, Donna Botterbusch of Thomasville, North Carolina, and Steven K. and wife, Chris Botterbusch of New Bern, North Carolina; his granddaughters: Jen and Carina: his grandsons: Marty, Dan, and Adam; his great- granddaughter: Lyla; his great-grandsons: Liam, Chase, and Braxton; and, his soon to be born great-grandson: Henry.

A Celebration of Life Tribute Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, December 15, 2015 in Calvary Baptist Church, 2740 Roosevelt Avenue, York with Pastor Richard Hall officiating.

Private burial will be in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery.
