MUNCIE--Nathan Lee Blankenship, 68, of Muncie, passed away early Saturday morning at his residence following an extended illness.

He was born April 30, 1944 in Muncie, Indiana and was the son of the late Nathen and Mary (Storms) Blankenship.

Nathan retired from Delco Remy. He proudly and honorably served his country in the United States Army. He was a member of the Eagles and Moose Lodge. He loved his family dearly.

He is survived by his loving wife, Alma Frances (Sebastian) Blankenship of Muncie; a son; a daughter;

In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by two brothers, Larry Joe Blankenship and Fred Thompson.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Thursday at Garden View Funeral Home with Pastor Collins Glenn officiating. Burial with Military Honors conducted by the Delaware County Honor Guard will follow in Mount Pleasant Cemetery. Visitation is from 11 a.m. until the time of service at 1 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
