Christian David Bensen, 77, of New Milford, NJ, unexpectedly passed away from asphyxiation in the second floor bathroom at the New Bridge Inn. At 2 AM, a fire started in the barroom injuring 8 people, including 5 firemen and one policeman. He was a World War I veteran, a past commander of the Caldaroney-Klaiber Post VFW in River Edge and the caretaker of the New Bridge Inn.
