Jarah, 23, died Saturday (May 23, 2009) in Rochester.
She was born Oct. 15, 1985, to Tom and Shelly (Schmitt) Beers in Albert Lea. She went to school in Lake Mills, Iowa, and lived in both Emmons, Minn., and Lake Mills. Several years ago she moved to Rochester, where she worked at the Holiday Inn. A very social person, she enjoyed visiting with people. She also enjoyed helping her mom in the garden, and was honored to be the godmother of her friend Heidi J. Newell's son, Carter Newell.
Survivors include her parents, Shelly Beers of Emmons and Tom Beers (Nancy Peterson) of Lake Mills; a sister, Stacia Beers of Albert Lea; grandparents, Margaret and Donald Schmitt of Emmons; an aunt, Cindy (Randy) LaCore of Kiester, Minn.; an uncle, Chad (Kris) Schmitt of Apple Valley, Minn., and several cousins. She was preceded in death by grandparents, Ruth and Leonard Beers; aunts, Sonja Farmer and Jaqueline Jepson, and uncle, Daniel Schmitt.
Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Friday at Bayview/Freeborn Funeral Home in Albert Lea, and an hour before the service Saturday at the church.
