The Chronicle Telegram (Elyria, Ohio) > 1948 > June > 22, FORMER ELYRIAN DIES SUDDENLY IN FLORIDA- Mrs. Hazel Bechtel, 44, a former Elyrian died in the night, Sunday June 20, following operative treatment in Clearwater, FL, where she and her husband and son have been living for the past two years, according to word received by relatives here. Mrs. Bechtel was the wife of Nelson Bechtel, and the family formerly lived at 209 Clark St. Elyria. She was born in South Amherst in September 1903, she attended South Amherst schools and was a graduate of South Amherst High School. Surviving her, in addition to her husband and her son Dennis, are her mother, Mrs. Anna Alsop of South Amherst, and two brothers, Ralph Alsop of Los Angeles and Russell Alsop of South Amherst.
