Edward L. Born, 35, of Henrietta Township, died Friday Nov. 10, 2006, from injuries sustained in a truck accident.
Born in Oberlin, he had lived in Henrietta Township his entire life. He was a 1989 graduate of Firelands High School and worked at Born Implement and H.A. Born Farms and was a Henrietta Township trustee. He was a veteran truck driver who logged hundreds of thousands of miles across the country hauling farm machinery. He was a member of the LORCO Board, Farm Bureau and Lagrange Engine Club. He was an avid tractor puller. He was an expert mechanic who could build or repair anything on the spot.
Survivors include his wife, Laura (nee Bennett); sons Edward Jr., 12, Ryan, 11, and Dustin, 10, all at home; a sister, Jessie Rotuno of Henrietta; a brother, Howard “Butch” Born of Henrietta; and his parents, Howard A. Born of Henrietta and Jessie Spiegelberg of Henrietta.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Howard A. Sr. and Mary Born; and his maternal grandparents, Edward L. and Virginia Livermore. Friends may call at 3 p.m. Tuesday at Morman Funeral Home, 16 Cooper St., Wakeman, until everyone has paid their respects.
Services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery, South Amherst.
Following burial, everyone is welcome to join the family and friends at Born Implement on Vermilion Road for a potluck dinner and fellowship.
Memorials will be used to set up a trust fund for the children and can be made at any FirstMerit Bank or in care of the funeral home.
