His favorite time of the year was summer, but his favorite holidays were Thanksgiving & Christmas because on those days, we were all one big family again. He loved the summer time. Summer, to him, meant time to tend the garden & ride the bike. He loved the NFL. When the Bengals played, forget about watching the TV, unless you were wanting to watch football all day & night. He worked hard & played harder. But everything revolved around family.
There was always a smile on his face, always happy. Look at his pictures & you'll see that. He was always laughing & cutting jokes. All & all, the kindest, sweetest man on the face of this earth.
He was born on April 3, 1959, to Betty and Raymond Atkinson of Wurtland. He was the best father, friend and confidant that anyone could have.
He was proceeded in death by his father, Raymond, and sister, Lotus Irene Atkinson Barker, of Flatwoods. Surviving him are his mother, Betty Atkinson of Zanesville, Ohio; brothers Joel Atkinson of Zanesville and Michael Atkinson of Summit.
Also, wife Mary Atkinson, of Flatwoods. 3 children (Kendrick Atkinson, Jessica Atkinson May, and Jennifer Atkinson), and 5 grandchildren (Trey Miller, Julianna "Paige" Atkinson, Kendrick "Levi" Atkinson, Kayden Phipps and Kyrah White).
There are many things we could say about our father. But he is greatly missed & there is definately a huge void in our lives without him here.
