ARNSON, Erling L., 91, was quietly freed by our Lord from suffering on Memorial Day, May 28, 2012. He was born in Dyker Heights, Brooklyn, NY on October 17, 1920. On February 19, 1941, he enlisted in the U.S. Army Air Corps and was a Staff Sergeant flying on the B24, "Boomerang Betsy." That crew was shot down on May 18, 1944 and became Prisoners of War in Bulgaria. Erling and Beatrice H. (Gilroy) Arnson were married over 68 years. He was a loving father to Sharyn L. Jaxheimer (William) of Lutz, FL, the late Wayne S. Arnson (Janet) and Kerri E. Sherwood of Kenosha, WI. He was the proud grand-father of five: Wendy J. Durk (Keith) of Columbia, MO, Scott R. Arnesen (Kathy) of Lakeview, WA, Heather L. Jaxheimer-Mills (Brian) of Land O' Lakes, FL, Kirsten L. Sherwood of Minneapolis, MN and Craig W. Sherwood of Kenosha, WI. He was blessed to have great grandchildren as well. He will be greatly missed by all family and friends. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday at Loyless Funeral Home. The committal will follow at 2:00 p.m. at the Florida National Cemetery.
