Stephon William Arends, the son of Teresa Coleman of Des Moines and John Arends of Newton, was born June 4, 1996, in Des Moines, Iowa.

The youngest of three sisters and a brother, Stephon was born with Cystic Fibrosis. After enduring a double lung transplant and organ rejection Stephon died from liver failure on Friday evening, December 20, 2013, at Blank Children's Hospital in Des Moines. He lived 17 years, 6 months, and 16 days.

Stephon lived his life to the fullest. He loved to joke around and make people laugh. There was never a dull moment in Stephon's life. He liked to laugh, sing, and make videos for youtube. Stephon had a loving and caring demeanor, and despite his condition he wanted everyone around him to feel comfortable as though there was nothing wrong with him.

Stephon was truly loved and will be missed by his mother and father; sisters, Reshawnna Coleman, Ashley Coleman, and Misty Coleman; a brother, Jack Hays; best friends, Shy and Pedro; and a host of Aunts, Uncles and Cousins.

A Celebration of Life Service will be at 1:00 p.m. with a visitation with the family beginning at 12 Noon on Saturday, January 4th at Fellowship Community Church in Norwalk.
