W.H. Andrews, 1st Sergeant, Company M, 1st Georgia Regulars (Southwest Georgia) from 1861 to 1865. Served with Lee's Army of Northern Virgina until after the Battle of Fredericksburg when transferred to Florida. Afterwards saw action in North Florida, the Gerogia coast, and South Carolina before surrendering with Johnston's Army of Tennessee in North Carolina in April, 1865. After the war resided in Dawson, Ga. and then Fulton and DeKalb Counties in the Atlanta area before moving to Sugar Valley, Gordon County, Ga. Died at his last home, 194 Grant St., Atlanta, Ga. on Nov. 14, 1920 and buried in his daughter's plot in Hollywood Cemetery in northwest Atlanta. Ga.
