From the April 1, 1957 issue of the Illinoian-Star newspaper, Beardstown, Illlinois: Harry D. Anderson, 61, of Springfield, former resident of Beardstown, died suddenly at 11:30 o'clock yesterday morning at his home, 437 West Jackson Parkway, Springfield. He suffered a heart attack. Mr. Anderson, who was in the investment business in Springfield resided here for many years. He operated a grocery store for several years at Twelfth and Jefferson streets. Mr. Anderson is survived by his wife Margaret Ireland Anderson, two sisters, Mrs. John Russell of Clinton and Mrs. Ethel Moore of Havana, and one brother, William. The body was removed to Thomas C. Smith's Sons Funeral Home in Springfield where friends may call from 4 to 8 o'clock this evening and where private services will be held at 10:30 o'clock tomorrow morning. The Rev. W.W. Towie will officiate, assisted by Dr. Virgil Myers. Graveside services will be held at noon tomorrow at the Oak Grove cemetery, Beardstown. In lieu of flowers, friends may send memorial gifts to the Boys Farm or First Congregational church.
