He was born in Dover, Mo., and lived in Hardin most of his life. Mr. Anderson was a carpenter for the Massman Construction Co. for 30 years. Later he worked at the Lake City Army Ammunition Plant, retiring in 1971. He formerly served on the Hardin City Council. He was a member of the Hardin Baptist Church and the Woodmen of the World. He was a former member of the Hardin Odd Fellows Lodge and the Carpenters union. His wife, Opal M. Branson, died in 1979. Survivors include five sons, Kenneth M. Anderson, Versailles, Mo., Gerald Anderson and Ira Junior Anderson of Richmond, Bobby W. Anderson, Excelsior Springs, and Jack Anderson, Long Beach, Calif.; four daughters, Helen Bandy, San Jose, Calif., Shirley Gentry and Judy Lowery of Excelsior Springs and Barbara Swafford, Richmond; a sister, Marjorie Bush, Excelsior Springs; 23 grandchildren; and 37 great-grandchildren.
