Francis P. Ames of Ocala, Fl. passed away on December 8, 2011 in Ocala. Mr. Ames was the son of Patrick and Agnes (Walsh) Ames of New York. Mr. Ames entered the Army Air Corps and served as a distinguished fighter pilot during W.W. II. After the service Mr. Ames was an Engineer with AT&T Telecommunications Company for many years. He was catholic by faith. He enjoyed photography as a hobby and was especially proud of and loved his family. Mr. Ames moved to Ocala from Phoenix, AZ in 1996. Francis leaves behind his loving wife Diana of Ocala; his daughters Deborah Worth and husband Steve of Philadelphia, PA, Denise Granito and husband Conrad of Providence, RI; and his son David Ames of Gilbert, AZ; his grandchildren Michael Worth, Tracy Worth, Stephanie Ames, Etienne Mechrefe, Amelie Tartaglione, and his great grandchildren Yasmine Mechrefe, Lillia Mechrefe, Anthony Mechrefe, and Kate Worth. Memorial Service for Mr. Ames will be Saturday, January 7, 2012 at 2:00 PM at Hiers-Baxley TimberRidge Chapel, 9695 SW 110th Street, Ocala, FL Memorials may be made to the Charity of your choice.
