Mr. Douglas Allen Sr., age 59, of Gatesville, died on Tuesday, November 30, 2004, at his residence.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Thursday, December 2, at the Gatesville Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Walter Davidson and the Rev. Wray Nunn officiating. Burial followed at Restland Cemetery.
Mr. Allen was born on June 8,1945, in Houston, Texas, to the late William Edward Sr. and Zadie V. Barfield Allen. He grew up and went to school in Houston. He married Jerrie Milliken in Houston on August 31, 1962. He worked as a carpet contractor for 25 years. He worked in law enforcement for 18 years. He was member of Coryell Community Church.
He is survived by his wife, Jerrie Allen of Gatesville; daughters, Sabrina Allen and Tammy Newman and husband David, both of Gatesville; son, Doug Allen II and his wife Jeanann of Gatesville; a brother, William Edward Allen Jr. of Splendora; a sister, Jeannette Parham of New Caney; six grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
