| Birth: | 1839 | | Death: | Nov. 30, 1898 | Found Dead. Curllsville, Nov., 30, [18]98. On Tuesday of this week about one o'clock p.m. Mr. J.B. Gwinn of near town found E.B. Alexander of Currsville [sic], Pa. lying on his face at a straw stack at the rear of his (Guinn's) barn, dead. Mr. Gwinn, at about 11 a.m. had helped him back his team and wagon to the stack, where he intended loading some straw. Mr. Gwinn then left him and went away, and on coming back about two hours later, was surprised to see the team still there; he went to see the cause, and found him as stated and on examining found that life had fled. Mr. Gwinn gave the alarm and soon the neighbors were at the scene. It was thought necessary by those present to hold an inquest, and in the absence of the coroner, Esq. Wiser summoned a jury and a verdict was rendered, after an examination by Dr. Woods, that the deceased came to his death from natural causes, that of heart failure. Deceased was nearly sixty years of age and leaves a wife, two sons and one daughter, all grown up. He was a member of the M.E. Church for a number of years, a member of the G.A.R. at Sligo, and of the O.U.A.M. at Sligo, was a good neighbor and will be greatly missed by the entire neighborhood which he resided. Interment in the M.E. Cemetery at Curllsville. Source: Clarion Journal, Dec. 1, 1898
