She left Chico State College after one semester to assist in the war effort at the Chico Army Airbase in a secretarial capacity, working directly first for the Chaplain and later for Flight Headquarters. In 1944, she married Robert Charles Woods in Los Angeles, CA. She later worked for the State Department of Forestry in Sacramento, CA. In 1959, she returned to Chico and worked as the purchasing agent for the Health Center at CSU, Chico until her retirement in 1995.
She leaves her son, Gregory A. Woods of San Jose, CA; her cherished grandson, Kirk Woods; her sister, Jean Whan of Chico, and eight nieces and nephews.
A son, Scott R. Woods preceded her death in 1990.
