GRANBURY - Emma Rebecca "Mom" Howell, 95, a homemaker, died Sunday, June 14, 1998, at a Granbury medical center. Funeral: 10 a.m. Tuesday at First Baptist Church in Lipan. Burial: Evergreen Cemetery in Lipan. Visitation: 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday at Martin's Funeral Home. Family to receive friends 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Emma Rebecca Howell was born January 9, 1903, in Paluxy. She was a resident of Hood County all of her life. She lived most of her life in or near Lipan. She worked for the Telephone Company as an operator in the days of handcrank telephones. She also worked for General Dynamics, now Lockheed. She served as a nurse's aide when Lipan had a hospital.

Survivors: Daughter, Venita Moore of Fort Worth; grandchildren, Dolores and Raymond Beck of Fort Worth; and great-grandchildren Cynthia and Bill Whitmarsh, Sherrie Beck and Roger Eppstein and Kenneth and Shaun Beck.
