Bridget Zugg, 54, of Thornburg died Saturday, July 9, 2011, at her home in Thornburg. She was born Sunday, August 12, 1956, in Kansas City, Missouri, the daughter of Charlie M. and Elouise Pendergast Johnson. She graduated from the Fort Scott High School in Fort Scott, Kansas, with the class of 1974. On August 8, 1975, she was united in marriage to William Zugg at Salina, Kansas. She worked as an L.P.N. at various nursing homes for over 12 years. She retired in 2010 due to ill health. She enjoyed cooking, knitting, reading, raising puppies, collecting panda bears, and singing. She delighted in spending time with her family. She was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in North English and was active in the Altar and Rosary Society.

Her family includes her husband William Zugg of Thornburg; two sons: Benjamin Zugg of Omaha, Nebraska and John Zugg of Iowa City; a daughter: Carrie Zugg of Leighton, Iowa; her mother: Elouise Johnson of Fort Scott, Kansas; two brothers: Dale (& Anna) Clark of Blaine, Kansas and Ivan (& Linette) Johnson of Joplin, Missouri; three sisters: Doloris Sonntag of Fort Scott, Kansas, Charlene Campbell of Joplin, Missouri and Rita (& Wayne) Hester of Drexel, Missouri; three step daughters: Teresa, Angela Turner and Elizabeth Zugg all of Salina Kansas; two step sons: William (& Abbey) Zugg and Lawrence Zugg all of Salina, Kansas; many step grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her father and a brother: Claude Clark.

Mass of the Christian Burial for Bridget Zugg will be held Wednesday, July 13, 2011, at 10 a.m. in the St. Mary's Catholic Church in Oskaloosa with Reverend Jeff Belger officiating. Burial will be in Sixteen Cemetery near Thornburg. Visitation will begin Tuesday after 2 p.m. in the Bates Funeral Chapel in Oskaloosa. The Rosary will be recited at 5 p.m. on Tuesday and the family will be present at the funeral chapel until 7 p.m. to greet friends and relatives. Memorials may be made to St. Vincent DePaul.
