ALMEDA M. (ZOOK) STUMP - 58, daughter of the late Rev. Abram and Rosie Bowers Zook, founders of the Mt. Carmel home at Franklin Corners, passed away at the Dixon hospital Thursday evening. She had been poorly several years.
She was vice president of the Mt. Carmel home board. Tentative arrangements for the funeral are for 2 p.m. Monday at the Dixon Methodist church. Committal will be in the Franklin Corners cemetery. The body reposes at the Melvin funeral home in Dixon.
Mrs. Stump was born at Franklin Corners July 7, 1893. She was reared there and attended Messiah Bible college Grantham, Pa., and took nurse's training at Englewood hospital, Chicago. She was married to Samuel Stump in 1915. He passed away several years ago. After her marriage she resided in New Paris, Ind., and also resided in Sterling, Morrison, Fort Dodge, Ia., and for the past several years had lived in Dixon.
Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Gene (Ann) Baker, Dixon, and Phyllis Stump, Oak Lawn, Ill.; one grandson; a sister, Betty Zook, RN, Chicago. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by a brother Samuel who was killed in action in France during World War I; a sister, Myrtle.
