Fred Lee Zook, 68, passed away Aug. 4, 2010. A Pueblo resident for the past 35 years, Fred was a self-employed consulting forensic engineer for Fred Zook Engineer Inc. He was one of the founders of Coalition of Professional Engineers, (COPE). He loved to tutor students in math and science. Fred was born Dec. 26, 1941, in Allensville, Pa., to the union of Rev. Leroy and Mary Anna (Yordi) Zook, they preceded him in death. Fred graduated in 1959 from Captain Jack High School in Mount Union, Pa. He leaves to cherish his memory, beloved wife, Florence Hunt; two daughters, Michelen (John) Sells of Denver, Tonika Simmons of Brooklyn, N.Y.; siblings, Brenda Dowd of Titusville, Fla., Debby Green of Elizabethtown, Ky., Madonna (Al) Holsopple of Baltimore, Md., Paul Zook of Mount Union, Pa.; granddaughter, Elizabeth Sells of Denver; mother in-law, Ivestine White; sisters-in–law, Barbara Ikner, Betty Hunt, all of Tucson, Ariz., Wealtha (Keith) Deaking, of Seattle, Wash.; two brothers-in-law, Phillip Hunt of Seattle, and Wendell Hunt of Phoenix, Ariz.; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends. At Fred's request cremation has taken place. A celebration of Fred's life, 4 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 12, 2010, Zaragoza Hall, 1339 E. Routt. In lieu of flowers, it was Fred's request that donations be made to either scholarship Fund COPE c/o Engineered Systems, 1101 N. Greenwood, Pueblo, CO 81003, or PAACO c/o P.O. 11833, Pueblo, CO 81001. Family is receiving friends at the family home.
Cremated, Location of ashes is unknown.
