Claudia Zook Anderson, 65, of Moscow, Idaho, passed peacefully in her sleep on Jan. 20, 2011, at her home. For two years she bravely battled ovarian cancer with grace and dignity.

Claudia was born May 14, 1945, to Lee and Helen Zook at Ames, Iowa, and spent her childhood in Nevada. Her family later moved to Ontario, California, where she attended Chaffey High School and Chaffey College.

Claudia was united in marriage to Charles Anderson on August 8, 1964. Two daughters were born in California, and two sons were born after their move to Idaho. They settled in Moscow, Idaho and divorced 30 years later.

Claudia worked as an administrative assistant at the University of Moscow for over 20 years; most recently retiring from the WWAMI Department where she throughouly enjoyed interacting with all the medical students.

Claudia was the very proud, protective, funny and loving mother of four children. She was a talented artist in every sense of the word, exceptional painter and quilter. She was proud of her Norwegian heritage. loved tulips, angels and laughing with her dear friends.

Claudia was preceded in death by her beloved daughter, Cami Anderson, and brothers, Barry and Garry Zook.

She will be dearly missed by her surviving children, Casey Anderson Brown (Keith) of Boise, Idaho, Chad Anderson of Moscow, Idaho, and Curt Anderson of Coeur D'Alene, Idaho; grandchildren Skyler, Aiden and Autumn; parents, Lee and Helen Zook of Story City; and two sisters, Diane McLaughlin (Frank) of San Jose, California and Candy Frederickson (Bill) of Estherville, Iowa and many nieces and nephews.

A memorial service is being held in Moscow, Idaho and a celebration of her life will be held at a later date in Iowa.
