Henry [WILLIAM] Zilliken, deceased, was a native of Germany, and the son of William Zilliken, who emigrated to this country from Germany in 1867 and settled in Pittsburgh. He was a watch maker and jeweler and in 1876 removed to Wellsburg, where he founded the present Zilliken business. He married Miss Catherine Mies, and they had the following children: Catherine, married Theodore Slottenhurst, both deceased; Elizabeth, died in infancy; Margaret, deceased; Henry, father of the subject of this sketch; Mary, lives at Wellsburg; Gertrude, deceased, was the wife of Wilson Armstrong; Nicholas, lives at Wellsburg; and Catherine, married John C. Gorby, lives in Wellsburg. Mr. Zilliken died in 1877.
