Friends may call from 2 – 8 p.m. Tuesday at Rupp Funeral Home where services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday. Rev. Robert Baltrip, Pastor of Liberty Missionary Baptist Church will officiate. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery.
Born March 6, 1936 in Big Rapids, Michigan, she was the daughter Joseph and Mabel (Miller) Zerba. She married Robert P. Smith on July 2, 1956 in Bowling Green, Ohio. He died September 4, 2005.
Betty was a homemaker who made her family her life.
Betty is survived by four sons, Ronald (Laura) Smith of Monroe, Robert (Deborah) Smith, Jr. of Monroe, Roy Smith of Trenton, Michigan and Douglas (Barbara) Smith of Monroe; two brothers, Victor Soleau of Port Orange, Florida and Joseph Zerba of Holland, Michigan; 15 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband Robert, Betty was preceded in death by a son Daniel; parents Joseph and Mabel Zerba; two brothers, Charles and Richard Zerba; and a sister, Sara Castiglione.
