PLATTEVILLE, Wis. -- Kathryn Ann Bartling, 90, of Platteville, died at 3 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 4, 2010, at Southwest Health Center, Platteville.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 7, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Platteville. Burial will be in St. Clement's Cemetery, Lancaster, at a later date. Friends may call from 9 to 10:45 a.m. Saturday at Melby-Bendorf Funeral Home, 1245 N. Water St., Platteville.
She was born on May 25, 1920, in Lancaster, daughter of Arthur and Edna (Greany) Zenz.
She married Glenn Bartling; he preceded her in death on July 4, 1997.
She graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Platteville and did graduate work at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and Cardinal Stritch University.
Kathryn taught school at Beaver Dam High School and also for the Wauwatosa School System.
She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and CCW, in Platteville, the Wisconsin Retired Teachers Association, the National Education Association and the Parent Teacher Association.
Surviving are two daughters, Mary Bartling, of Wauwatosa, and Ellen Bartling, of Valders; three sons, William (Midge) Bartling, of Merrill, Thomas (Sue) Bartling, of Janesville, and Patrick (LuAnn) Bartling, of Dousman; 13 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and a special nephew, Robert (Jan) Lintvedt.
She also was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers; and a daughter, Ann Tiedt.
