FREDERICKTOWN - Dora Zearley Renicker, age 79, of Fredericktown, passed away on Tuesday, Oct. 18, 2011, at her home with her family at her side.

Dora was born in Wellsville to A. Luther and S. Louise (Marsden) Zearley on Feb. 14, 1932. She was a 1950 graduate from Wellsville High School and attended Ohio Valley Hospital School of Nursing. She was employed as an operator by the former Ohio Bell Telephone Company in East Liverpool, and Wellsville, and in the business office in Columbus after her marriage in 1953 to Jack C. Renicker, d.d.s. In Wellsville she was a member of the Second Presbyterian Church where during high school, she served as organist. She and her husband were married there on June 14, 1953.

In 1959, after living 2 1/2 years in Verdun, France, where her husband served as a Captain in the Army Medical Corp, Dora moved to Fredericktown when her husband began a Family Dental Practice.

Dora was a 52 year member of the First Presbyterian Church in Fredericktown. She served the church in many capacities which included serving 29 years as the co-chair of the annual Election Day Turkey Supper; 50 year member of West Side Club and a member of the Ohio Eastern Star Ann Hill Chapter No. 81. She was also a two term Past President of the Knox County Republican Women.

Dora will be best remembered for her musical talent at the organ having played for many weddings and special occasions. She also presented organ concerts at the Renaissance Theatre in Mansfield, Ohio.

Dora is preceded in death by her parents, husband Dr. Jack C. Renicker (1994) and four sisters.

She is survived by two daughters Jaclynn (Ray) Brewer, Fredericktown, Joann (Paul) Ringer, Dayton; and a son Mark (Jody) Renicker, Brighton, Mich.; three grandsons, Jackson Conrad Renicker, Maxwell Anderson Renicker and Quinn Joseph Renicker; one granddaughter, Sydney Madison Ringer; one sister Edda Tompkins, Etowah, Tenn.; and many nieces, nephews and special friends.

At her request there will be no calling hours. Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 21, 2011, in Forest Cemetery, Fredericktown, with Pastor Mike Smith officiating.
