Mr. Tommie Martin, 83, of Panama City, Fla, passed away Thursday, April 28, 2005, at a local hospital. He moved to this area. Mr. Martin was a retired United States Air Force master sergeant, having served both in World War II and Korea, and a retired U.S. Civil Service housing officer. He was a member of St. Dominic's Catholic church, American Legion Post 66, VFW Post 8205, Knights of Columbus, NCO Association, Air Force Sergeants Association and the AARP. Mr. Martin was preceded in death by his wife, Flor, in 2001. He also was preceded in death by his parents, Roscoe M. and Lillie P. Martin; and two siblings. Mr. Martin is survived by three children, Tommie Martin Jr. and wife Druanne of Panama City, Albert Lee Martin and wife Marie of Austin, Texas, and Doris Crabtree and husband Ron of Deer Park, Texas; a brother, Wiliam Joseph Martin and wife Virginia of Sierra Vista, Arizona; a sister, Della Juet of Tulsa, Oklahoma, 10 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral services for Mr. Martin will be held at 10:00 am Monday, May 2, 2005, at Southerland Family Funeral Home with the rev. Rick Conner officiating. Interment will follow at Garden of Memories. The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home from 4 to 6 p.m. today, May 1, 2005. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to the American Cancer Society in memory of Mr. Tommie Martin.
