WALTER P. ZAKRZEWSKI (ZAK CHEV SKI)
CROWN POINT, IN
Walter P. Zakrzewski (Zak Chev Ski), age 88, late of Crown Point, IN, formerly of Chicago, IL, passed away on Friday February 1, 2008 at St. Anthony's Hospital.
He is survived by his daughter Juanita Fechtner and his son Ronald Zakrzewski; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; one brother Chester Zakrzewski.
Preceded in death by his beloved wife Mabel and his son Walter.
Walter was a beloved husband and father who will be sadly missed by his family and friends.
He was a devoted Cubs and Bears fan who loved to go fishing. Walter was a U.S. Navy Veteran of WWII. He retired from U.S. Steel Co. (Chicago), and was an active Moose member. He attended Our Lady of Consolation and was formerly a member of Immaculate Conception Church (Chicago) and St. Francis de Sales Church (Chicago).
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, February 5, 2008 9:30 a.m. from the Elmwood Chapel, 11200 South Ewing Ave., Chicago, IL to St. Francis de Sales Church. Mass of Christian Burial at 10am. Interment Holy Cross Cemetery.. Visitation will be Monday from 2-9 pm at the Elmwood Chapel, 773-731-2749.
