Homa Gene (Pee Wee) Abshier Zakrzewski, 81, of Mayflower passed away Monday, January 20, 2014. She was born April 11, 1932 in Kansas City, Missouri to the late James and Vivian Abshier. She spent most of her youth in Horatio. For a time she lived and worked in North Little Rock before she and her husband Albin moved to Mayflower in 1955. Pee Wee worked as a legal secretary for Martin, Dodd & Kidd and then became coordinator for a plumbing school, Central Arkansas Joint Apprentice Association, from which she retired after 30 years of service. After retirement she was able to devote more time to her love of working in the yard. She was a long-time member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in North Little Rock.

Pee Wee is preceded in death by her sister Norman Smith. Survivors are by her husband of 36 years, Albin Zakrzewski; son, John Edward Smith (Sara); grandchildren: Jack, Maria and Peter Smith all of St. Louis, MO; sisters: Donna Davidson of Fayetteville; Jamie Butler (Charles); Kelly Morris of Quinton; stepdaughter, Karen French; stepson, Robert Zakrzewski; numerous friends.

Visitation will be 6:00 PM, Friday, January 24th at Roller-McNutt Funeral Home, Conway with Rosary to follow at 7:00 PM. Funeral Mass will be 10:00 AM Saturday at Immaculate Heart of Mary in North Little Rock.

In lieu of flowers, contributions to Immaculate Heart of Mary, 7006 Jasna Gora Drive, North Little Rock, AR 72118.
