Sophie (Lunch Lady) Bialobrzski, 89, of 27 MacArthur Road, Plainville, passed away on Wednesday (November 24, 2010) at The Hospital of Central CT in New Britain. She was the wife of the late Stanley Bialobrzski.
Sophie was born December 16, 1920 in New Britain to the late Frank and Maryanne Zakrzewski.
Sophie was a resident of Plainville for sixty-five years, where she was employed with the town of Plainville until the age of eighty, at the Middle School of Plainville.
Sophie was a member of Our Lady of Mercy Church and a part of the Guild of Our Ladies. She enjoyed volunteering and gave many years to the Plainville Food Pantry and twenty-five years to the American Red Cross. Sophie's love for giving to others will remain with all those who knew her.
She leaves her children Barbara Engels and her husband Mike of Bristol; Shirley Kreidel and her husband Richard of Terryville and Paul Bialobrzski and his partner Laura of Plainville, along with nine grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren. She also leaves her sister Ann Bleau of Southington and several nieces and nephews and her longtime childhood friend Jane Karbonic. She was predeceased by her two sons Joseph and Jack, three brothers Stanley, Paul, and Pete, and her sister Genevieve.
A celebration of Sophie's like will be held on Monday (November 29, 2010) at 9:00 a.m. from Bailey Funeral Home, 48 Broad Street, Plainville, for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. in Our Lady of Mercy Church.
Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery.
