Edmund Zankle, 86, of 1105 Philippen St., Manitowoc, died Saturday at Holy
Family Hospital, Manitowoc.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Pfeffer Funeral Home and at
11 a.m. at St. Andrew Catholic Church, Manitowoc. The Rev. James R. DeWitt
will officiate and burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc.
Mr. Zankle was born Sept. 1, 1888, in the Town of Franklin, Manitowoc County,
son of the late George and Theresa Zeman Zankle. He married Rose Mueller
Aug. 27, 1919, at St. Luke Catholic Church, Two Rivers. They celebrated their
55th wedding anniversary in August of 1974. Prior to his retirement in 1957,
he was employed at Manitowoc Shipbuilding Inc.
Survivors include his wife, two sons, James, of Manitowoc and Francis, of
Woodstock, Ill.; a daughter, Mrs. Anthony (Elaine) Gospodarek, of Oshkosh; a
brother, Alois, of Two Rivers; a sister, Mrs. Anna Hopf, of Manitowoc; eight
grandchildren and four great grandchildren. A brother and two sisters preceded
him in death.
Friends may call at Pfeffer Funeral Home from 4 to 9 o’clock this Monday evening,
where a wake memorial service will be held at 8 o’clock.
