Helen was born on December 30, 1915, in Andrew County, Mo., to Grace and John Younger. She grew up in Savannah, Mo., along with her older brothers, Woodson Clark Younger.
Helen was graduated from Savannah High School, where she was an avid basketball player.
Helen and her husband, William Beatty Brant moved to Pattonsburg, where they owned and operated a Five and Dime Store for 20 years.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Bill; and survived by her daughter, Helen Sharon Brant; grandson, Kerlin Romleh Smith; four great-grandchildren; Wyleden Sterling Smith, Sara Elizabeth Kriley, Claudia rose Smith and Sophie Helen Smith; and a half-sister, Kathy Younger Smith, Jacksonville, Fla.
Services were held on Saturday, April 1, 2006, at Heaton-Bowman-Smith & Sidenfaden Chapel, St. Joseph, MO.
Burial: Savannah, Mo., Cemetery
