Joe Forsee
Arrested, Jailed and Married!

Few citizen have ever had such an experience as has Joseph Forsee within the past twenty-four hours. he was arrested last night by Sheriff Demaree, charge with forgery and taken to jail. It will be remembered that Joseph was compelled to leave these parts last June for obtaining money on a money order, misdirected from Evansville to Madison in favor of I.N. Force, the sum being about $75. During Joe's absence his father, who is a respected citizen, paid all, or about all, of the money to the bank from which Joe got the money. The bank officials were loath to prosecute, but Prosecutor Hay and Sheriff Demaree were determined to deal out justice, hence the arrest.

As a remarkable sequel to the legal action, a young woman named Emma Younger, of Milton township, appeared this morning and through her friends, procured license, and she and Joseph (who was not like Joseph of old in any respect) were married this forenoon in the lobby of the jail by Judge Allison - for reasons best known to themselves. It was not a joyous matrimonial event, and the honey moon is darkened because the groom is under a cloud, and the aforesaid moon is obscured thereby, as 'twere.
