Alice I. Abbott, 82, died May 31, 1999 at her Franke Tobey Jones residence. Born Alice Irene Young on March 23, 1917, Tacoma, Washington to Fannie Elizabeth Tyler and Foster G. Young, she is preceded in death by her husband of fifty-four years, Alexander Joseph Abbott; her sister, Emma Foster Young Kiehlmeier, and her brother,
Horace (Bud) Young.
A lifetime resident of the Tacoma area, she is survived by three daughters, Jean F. Hoard, Tacoma; Ellen E. Webster, Toledo, WA; Lynn E. Bromley, Gig Harbor; 10 grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren.
She was a member of Mission Woods Presbyterian Church, Milton, for many years.
Services will be held on Friday, June 4, 1999, 3:00 pm in the Evergreen Chapel. Services conducted by Pastor Jon Rohrbough. Interment will be in New Tacoma Cemetery. Arrangements by Tacoma Funeral Home and Cemeteries, 564-1311.
