Myrtle Young Brewer
Myrtle Young Brewer of Austin passed away Wednesday, October 13, 2004. She was born to Adolf and Anna Young of Elroy, Texas. For many years Myrtle was actively involved in Tarrytown United Methodist Church activities and in the Fellowship Sunday school class. In addition she was involved in all of the United Methodist women's activities and Sew N Sews. Outside participation included the Austin Porcelain Arts Club and she was involved in the University KI-ANS. Myrtle was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She was generous with her time, talent and treasures. She was admired for her giving nature, cooking wonderful dishes for her family and others who were ailing. China painting brought her such joy and she painted superbly. Gardening was another skill she possessed, her family and friends benefiting from this talent. She will be sorely missed by all but not ever forgotten. She will live on in our hearts forever. She is preceded in death by her sisters, Dora Carlson, Rubena Blomquist and Carolyn Kunshick. Myrtle Brewer is survived by her husband of 63 years, C.R. (Bob) Brewer; daughter, Patricia Kay Beard of Plano, Texas; grandson, Christopher Aaron Beard of Plano; sister, Westelle Paul and husband, Oscar of Austin. A visitation will be held Friday, October 15, 2004, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Cook-Walden Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held for family and close friends at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, October 16, 2004 at Austin Memorial Park. A memorial service will follow at 11:00 a.m., at Tarrytown United Methodist Church.
