Harold was a son of Clara F. (Gardiner) and Charles W. Young. He was the grandson of Henry A. Young. He had a brother, Raymond H. Young and two sisters, Bertha B. (married Baxter), Edith H. (married Whipple). Harold married Barbara Drew Nickerson on July 2, 1938. They had 2 daughters: Sandra A. (married Coppolino) and Susan B. (married Graham). Harold lived in North Scituate, Rhode Island for 20 years before moving to Cranston in 1960. He worked as an assistant purchasing agent for the Ansonia Wire & Cable Co. for 16 years, retiring in 1974. He loved music and was a bassoonist for the Providence Symphony Orchestra. He also performed with teh Warwick Symphony, the Providence Civic Orchestra of Senior Citizens, the RSVP Band of Woonsocket and the Palestine Shriners Band. I was a member for the Woonsocket Musicians Protective Association. Other associations he belonged to: South County Good Sams, the RI Beekeepers Association, the Cranston Senior Center, AARP and the 60 Plus Club of Cranston. He was also a member of the Trinity Baptist Church of Pawtucket. He predeceased his wife. When he passed, he had 4 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
