Frank married Harriet (Hattie) Lewis Manchester on May 5, 1891. They had 2 sons, Lewis Douglas and Everett F.
Frank and his brother Arthur L. owned a fancy paper box company. When Frank died, the business was left to Arthur and Frank's 2 sons. Arthur and Everett conspired to bilk Douglas out of his share. Douglas caught them but decided to wire tap their phone and take the information to court, suing his brother and uncle. This was the first time that wire-tapping was used successfully in a court of law. Douglas won, but all proceeds from the company were lost by that time.
Frank built his house on 13 Laura Street in Providence, RI. Although it was originally a one family house with the 3rd floor as an attic, Frank and his wife Hattie invited their son Douglas and his family to live on the 1st floor because at that time Douglas and Louise May Gibbs (Douglas' wife) had twins and the place they were living in was too small. So Frank and Hattie moved up to the 2nd floor. Years later Douglas turned the 3rd floor into living quarters for his wife's mother, Jennie Louise Gibbs after her husband Nelson died.
It was a beautiful house in its day. When we were kids we would visit for the holidays, the most memorable being Christmas. The first room you would come into was a charming little sitting room with a bay window and a beautiful , emerald green marbled fireplace, which was always lit for Christmas. The living room had a piano and our grandmother, Louise, would play and we would all sing Christmas songs. That house held so many romantic memories for all that visited there. Unfortunately, it has deteriorated to an awful state and isn't recognizable to what it once was. It had endured a fire, then boarded up for years. People have re-worked it...but......
Frank later died in that house, of stomach cancer. His funeral was also held there as well.
Frank also had one other brother, Henry A. Young and a sister Emma Frances who died when she was 3 yrs. 8 months old.
