ERNEST JOHN YORBA

Yorba, Ernest John (91) member of the early California Founding families, 6th generation from Don Bernardo Yorba's Rancho, which comprised most of Orange County. Ernest was the eldest of eight siblings and grew up on the Yorba Ranch which is now part of Yorba Linda. Ernest attended Fullerton High School and went on to USC earning his teaching credentials. He first taught at The Schoolhouse in Yorba Linda until WWII where he served in the US Army. After the war Ernest worked for the Los Angeles School District for over 30 years. In 1975 Ernest and his wife of 52 years, Ynez Higuera Yorba (preceeded in death in 1990), moved to Leisure World Laguna Woods. Ernest was an active member of the Lyons Club, serving a term as club president. Ernest is survived by two brothers and three sisters. Son Steven (Julie) of Arcadia, Grandchildren Traci Foster (Dennis) of Glendora, Scott Yorba, Patrick Ebert (Margaret), and Karlyn Ebert of Arcadia. One Great Grandson Thomas Patrick. A Rosary for Ernest is to be held at McCormick and Sons Mortuary, Laguna Hills Thursday June 26th at 7PM. And the Funeral Service is to be held at Saint Nicholas Catholic Church Laguna Woods Friday June 27th at 10:30AM.
