Mrs. J. C. Cooper, Salley, Dies
Springfield, Jan. 11--(Special)--Mrs. Geneva Cooper, 82, died at her home near Salley Wednesday afternoon, following an illness of several months.
Mrs. Cooper was the widow of J. C. Cooper, was a lifelong resident of Salley and was a member of Dean Swamp Baptist church. She had been a member of this church since early childhood and was probably the oldest member of the church at the time of her passing.
Survivors include three sons, E. K. Cooper of Andalusia, Ala., Alexander A. Cooper of Sheffield, Ala., and R. L. Cooper of Salley; one daughter, Mrs. Eva Able of Charleston; 19 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted at 4:30 at the Dean Swamp Baptist church Friday afternoon by her pastor, the Rev. L. S. Shealy, assisted by the Rev. S. S. Ellington of Springfield. Interment will be in the church cemetery.
