Born in Bristol, Connecticut, she was a daughter of the late Alexander and Elizabeth (Corbet) Yetman. Mrs. Malan lived in Glastonbury, Connecticut for many years, where she raised her family, before retiring to Rhode Island.
Several years ago she had been an active member of the Christian Women's Club. She enjoyed time spent with her family and friends.
She is survived by four children and their spouses, Alan & Patricia Malan of Manchester, Connecticut, Susan Malan and Bob Ward of Essex, Connecticut, Nancy and Leonard Surdel of Mansfield, Massachusetts, and Karen and Brendan Walsh of West Hartford, Connecticut; eight grandchildren, Kimberly, Craig, Kyle, Casey and Corey Malan, Julia Surdel, Kayleigh and Shane Walsh. She was the mother of the late William O. Malan, Jr. and was predeceased by her sisters, Loretta, Lois, Shirley, Evelyn and her twin, Doris Anita.
Visiting hours will be Saturday from 11 am to 12 pm at the Avery-Storti Funeral Home, 88 Columbia Street, South Kingstown, RI, followed by a funeral service at 1 pm in the Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd, Kingston, RI. Burial will take place in Green Cemetery, Glastonbury, CT at a later date.
